ESPN NFL League Participants READ THIS
Today is the league deadline for week 1 games. Right now 4 teams have yet to play their games. I have one guy who hasn’t even added someone to the friends list. I need to hear from the 4 guys yet to play to see what is up. If I don’t hear from you by Monday, you will be dropped and forfeit. Thanks for playing!

On the new league, I bet I’ve logged on close to 50 times and he’s never on. I have been very disappointed with leagues in general. Losers sign up but never play their games! I don’t understand it…

I think we’re going to do another one that will be invite only. I wish you could do a fantasy draft online or at least use rosters aside from default, but I think we’re gonna try again.

It’s not that I’m not on, I’m just not on at the same time that you are. I get up at 5:00 for work every morning which means that I can’t be playing at 10:30 at night. This is why we spoke all week about trying to get a league game scheduled. Last we spoke, we were to play 8PM last night. I was on at 8 EST and at 8 CST. In fact, I was on from 8 until 9:30 CST and never saw you.
I don’t mean to call you out, but based on your comments, I’m a “loser” who signs up for a league and then doesn’t play their games. In reality, I’m a guy who signs up, spends a week trying to schedule a game with someone and is either ignored (like in the first round of the bsg tourney) or I can’t seem to hook up with my opponent, like in the season BSG league.
I don’t think that these leagues can exist as a “we’ll play when we see each other” kind of thing because people have different schedules and live in different time zones or whatever. I created the contact info thread in the league site in the hopes that it would be easier to schedule games, but instead people use things like the in-game messaging and the league messaging site. Hardly fool-proof methods.
Joel, I’m sorry we couldn’t play this week, but as you know we both spoke to each other all week in regards to scheduling the game so it’s not like I wasn’t receptive to playing the game. We don’t have the same schedule so it didn’t work out, and for that I apologize. I wish you the best of luck in the league. Dan, thanks for setting it up and I’m sorry I’m not in it anymore.

Brandon:
I only dropped you from the league because you said you were out in the message board on the league. I wouldn’t have dropped you if that weren’t the case. We’ll try again sometime.

Dan,
No worries, mate. I appreciate you saving me the trouble. Besides, the sooner you get replacements in there, the sooner everyone can get down to the very important business of football. I hope you can find someone quickly.

Hey, this kind of stuff is normal. All you can do is try to make contact with the other guy, then let the commish know what you have done to set up a game. That way he can make the appropriate decisions to cut loose guys that just drop-out without giving word.
As long as you weed out the losers, eventually you will have a good group. Sounds like Dan is handling it just fine.
I used to run a couple of FBPro leagues back in the day. Leagues always had a few guys dropping out to start, but eventually we had a great group that liked to play.
I just wish guys knew that it was ok to change their minds and quit. So then they could actually tell you that they would not be playing, so you wouldn’t wate a week checking emails and such. Feels like getting dumped in junior high.
