Special "We’ve Turned The Corner" Edition
1. 22-0? Are you kidding me? Three touchdowns, two extra points, and a two point conversion to nothing? Boy, now I love that sort of New York Yankee embarassment. Couldn’t happen to a nicer team. Almost makes you want to go back to the newsgroup to see if Jonah is still alive.
2. Check out this article on Fox Sports (did you know MSN now is allied with Fox Sports and not ESPN) about the 10 worst fans ever. Pay special attention to #7. That name is always in my memory. That name and Rich “Glad you resigned” Garcia. Things like that make item #1 much more enjoyable!
3. Based on #1 and #2, Boston papers are calling this the year. Ironically, our usual gang of idiots 3 weeks ago, said that after the Nomar trade, this team didn’t have a chance. Also of note, is how the Yankees are being based all over again. Folks, as much as I enjoy #1, this isn’t the playoffs.
4. The US lost the World Cup of hockey game last night, which while a bummer, is no surprise. After all, they played Canada, kinda like the Brasil of soccer.
5. Scrubs is a hilarious show. Last night’s show was a catastrophic success. I mean, it was so funny, it was over so fast, I didn’t know what to do, besides watch Arnold. (See. I used catastrophic success in a sentence. Let’s make up more BS phrases!)

1. Seeing Arnold speak, the only thing I could think about was the Saturday Night Live impresssion. I never thought the impression of Arnold was good. Until last night. So far I have been captivated by a total of 0 Republican speeches. During the DNC there were 3 speeches that I was all over: Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and Al Sharpton. Those guys made you stay with the speeches! (Nope, I didn’t say Kerry, talk about a snoozefest).
2. CNN says that Kerry’s campaign may be retooling. Hey, it worked in the primaries. Personally, I think that a sock puppet should be ahead by double digits against a guy running an unfounded and unpopular war and a crappy economy along with horrendous deficits. John Kerry is no sock puppet. Someone needs to pick an issue, run it into the ground until it sticks on W. Bush does this very well. Of course Bush has to do it very well, because what the hell else is he going to run on? His record? Please.

Most definitely! I was completely enthralled by the speech that Rev. Sharpton delivered. I guess I didn’t miss much in missing Senator Kerry’s speech. They always started after I had already gone to bed.

Realize that there are some of us out there that don’t think that a womanizer and a racist delivered great speeches at the Democratic convention. I do like Obama.
I’ll stick with George.

Yes, also realize that some of us out here aren’t big fans of drunk driving drug addicts either.

And some of us believe in free speech. You know, the right for people to say or write what they want. And the right for people to read it or skip it.

My political sympathies tend to go with this blog, but I have to admit the Republican convention was a far better run affair than the Democratic. I think it is going to be far more effective at creating a “bounce” as well. As much as I think their representation of themselves was mostly a sham, it was effectively done. As a Democrat, I was embarassed to see someone like Sharpton on the stage giving a keynote address, regardless of how cringeworthy it is seeing the Terminator in their show.
