7 Year Anniversary and More on NCAA 2006

Yep today is our 7 year anniversary. My wife has put up with me for SEVEN YEARS. She deserves the Medal of Freedom. We're going to a Fondue Restaurant tonight....Don't ask

More NCAA 2006 info is out that that is worth discussing. The good stuff from the article:

1. Drops - This is a question I asked Jeff Ecker as we were playing. He had a good answer which was “do you see any”. He was right, I didn’t see any unusual drops that should be catches. Of course you still see drops in heavy coverage and on big hits which is the way it should be but the wide open short route drops have been fixed. I was playing on the PS2 but also checked out a game going on the Xbox to make sure it was the same.

OK, this is good. I HOPE that player ratings matter and that drops still do happen just not as much as last year. I mean a guy should drop open passes from time to time (see Braylon Edwards vs Ohio State last year) but it shouldn't happen every single game. There needs to be a balance. I like that they seem to at least have conceeded that it was a problem.

2. Xbox Slowdown – Saw none

About. Damn. Time.

Oh, yeah, before I forget -- no, I don't think Denver made a smart pick by taking Clarett. That was like taking a 3rd round pick and lighting it on fire. The Jets taking Nugent though -- if he's as good in the NFL as he was in college then that pick will be a steal. He was that good at OSU.

  1. The drops are the only reason I didn’t open my copy of NCAA 2005 (returned it and re-bought NCAA 2004 used). If that’s really fixed I’ll give the rest of the game and all these new features a fair shot.
