Jiri Fischer
I’m not going to say much about this except to point to Bob Wojonowski’s column at The Detroit News website. Jiri’s a fantastic young talent for the Wings whose already overcome a lot in terms of injuries since coming to Detroit. (He blew out his knee a couple years ago, missed almost all of the season and it took him awhile to find his game again). Hopefully he’ll be able to resume playing at some point in the future, but right now I think all sports fans will agree that the best news is that he’s still alive. It’s scary how our bodies can just turn on us clear out of the blue like that.
