MVP/NCAA Day

I plan on grabbing this after I drop Ashley off at Pre-K. I’ll try to get some thoughts posted this evening. Buzz is very good on this one (not review buzz but gamer buzz) so I’m looking forward to it.

Oh, as an aside — I rarely mention web reviews on the blog but TeamXbox posted a review of the game and gave it a 7.something and rated it such mainly because it didn’t have the MLB license. Does that seem fair to you?

It hurts. No matter how you slice it, the lack of an official pro license (in a sport where the following of the pro level is strong) for this year’s MVP holds this title back a bit.

Isn’t there an EA Sports embargo going on?

    Not by me.

I picked this up today. I’m a little concerned already. I’ve played 5 games and every game, after having somewhat large leads (all at least 5 runs) and in the 9th inning the other teams (powerhouses like Northern Iowa) staged huge comebacks and in one case I was one out away from a 6 run win and ended up losing 9-8. It’s like the catch-up logic in a lot of racing games. More to come…

Some very negative reviews. Game Informer calls it boring and lifeless, for one.

My local GameStop did not get it today.

Well, if Game Informer says so…. :-)

Im actually having some fun with it, but calling it MVP 2006 is a misnomer…..should have been MVP 2005.5 or something….

Ive had very close games, only tinkered with the sliders a bit, but so far Ive had a 2-1 loss, a 4-2 loss, a 5-3 win, and a great, 13 inning 2-1 win, where I was threatening to win the game in bottom 11 and was gunned down by the Virginia Right Fielder…

    For 29.99?? Not bad…
