True Confessions

Okay, I’m about to share with you some very disturbing information. As we prepare for the blizzard of the century, I put in the American Pie: Band Camp DVD. Yes, that is disturbing.

Then I started watching and noticed that the nurse looked very familiar. Her name is Ginger Lynn Allen, who is a former adult film star, but unfortunately, that is not where I recalled her (that wouldn’t be disturbing). Do you know what I recalled her from? The Wing Commander game.

Now that is embarassing.

In other news, the Band Camp movie wasn’t bad. I’ve seen worse.

In more other news, I watched the Olympics tonight. I have two NBC HD channels and Universal HD. Did anyone else tonight have a shitty NBC HD feed? It kept going from HD to SD quite often, and on both NBC channels on my system. I was just curious if it was my cable or if eveyone had this problem.

Similar to my NBC HD feed. It kept cutting in and out, but not to SD. It would just cut out (screen went black, audio gone). It did the same thing during the opening ceremony, but not nearly as frequent.

I had to switch to the standard version of that station because it was too frustrating.

I have Directv and have the feeds.
I was watching the NBC10 feed from philly on the directv. I was kind of doing a test so i wasnt sure if it was me.

You see I have the new 5LNB HD dish for the new satallites that are going up for HD. But a tech was out yesterday and fixed some things. andyway…..there is a filter on the back of the box that is used for the local HD channels because the are broadcasting on a smaller bandwidth,,,,the intended newer bandwidth. This filter is needed for some reason…although it seems to ruin the picture of the older 70-79 HD channels usung wider bandwidth. for this reason io took the filter off yesterday and was still able to recieve the HD local channels but the olympics were still blurry and poor. thought it was me but maybe it wasnt the missing filter maybe it was the feed.

Seems much better tonight. I haven’t seen any audio/video dropouts or pixelation issues.
