Anatomy of a Pasting
I’ll check in with some thoughts on the draft in a bit, but I had to note the kind of weekend the Detroit Tigers had, at home, against the Minnesota Twins. The series was three games and the run total for the series was 33-1, Detroit. 33-1. That includes a pair of shutouts, 9-0 and 6-0 (giving the Tigers a team record five shutouts in April). The game Minnesotra scored their lonely run, the Tigers put up 18. Um. Ouch.
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen the Tigers dominate a series like they did this one. They’re now 16-9, which marks their best April since 1984 (18-2). Anyway, it beats the hell out of watching the Red Wings latest playoff collapse.
