When I use my french press, I grind the beans immediately before i put them in…the fresh ground beans are very important. Some of the pods have been ground weeks ago…maybe months ago. Coffee needs to be brewed at a high temperature for optimal taste (over 190 degrees, I hear), and most of these pod things only get to 170 or so....leaving the coffee flat and empty.
