The PS3 and Wii
First off, anyone looking for PS3/Wii thoughts from me will be waiting quite a long while. I dunno what it is, but my desire to get one/both of those consoles — there is literally zero drive to buy them. I have my 360. I play it on a semi-regular basis, but with that and my PC gaming there would be zero time for other stuff and I have plenty of work to do as is, so I’m staying pat with the cards I have. It does feel kinda strange, but I never even gave buying a PS3 any real thought.
Anyway, College Hoops 2K7, after seveal games, is proving to be the best in the series. Really good stuff. I may bump up CPU 3PT attempts (this has never felt right in this series) but each game feels different, which is the sign of a cool sports game.
Anyone played the original Xbox version?

I’ve been playing the 360 version, and my advice is to stay the hell away from Legacy mode. Once again, you have to start at a small crap school and work your way up. I picked the highest ranked school I could find (Morehead State) and played my first game against American University. I’ve never seen so many missed 3-footers in my life! Then, all of a sudden American was draining 3-pointers like no tomorrow. I ended up losing my 15. I’ve never been so frustrated with a video game in my life. Maybe online is better, but I wish I could just take my LSU and play a season with them. And this interface, the worst of all time!

Joel, just play in Open Legacy mode and play with whomever you want.

Doh! Didn’t know I could do that. That’s why you make the big bucks. Let’s play a game eh?

I prefer having to run a small crap school, and bringing it to national attention. Very challenging, and satisfying.

Joel is right about one thing: playing with a small school is MUCH tougher now, almost comically so. Out of the box it plays well if you have a good team but if you want tyo play with a small school even when you play other small schools, it’s hard to do much.
I guess I really need to learn all of the “advanced” moves to get the most out of this game. It’s like learning a friggin flight sim.

Neither the Xbox nor the PS2 versions have reviews yet. Want to bet they’re more balanced and thought-out than the 360 version, regardless of how good it is?
