I have a 360 and enjoy the games that I have for it. I personally think it’s a silly upgrade for the 360 product line. It’s not an upgrade that everyone is forced to buy, but it is an upgrade over the Premium, like the Premium is an upgrade over the core.

I don’t want to be lumped in with the people that slammed Sony for adding the Blu Ray to the PS3. I thought the price for the system was high, but I went out and bought one because I wanted one and could afford it.

Oh, and don’t forget about the tremendous drive transfer technology that they’ve put in for people buying the 120 GB drive to add to their system.

$180 for a 120 GB hard drive? Welcome back to 2003. Maybe that’s when they set the price for it.

My 20GB HD is down to 1GB available. I use the Marketplace a lot. Hell, just downloading the Oblivision expansion kills 10% of your hard drive space (because only 10GB is usable for your stuff).

MS deserves the ass pounding for this decision. I have no problem with the selling the Elite, I do have a problem charging $179 for a 120GB drive. That’s insane.

You’re simply giving the consumer another model to choose from. If you’re downloading a lot of HD videos and content from the marketplace then this drive would be for you. If i was buying a new 360 I would go with this model, because for $80 more I am getting an extra 100 gigs of space.

HDMI who give a shit about that, they through it in because people would have bitched if they didn’t. There is no noticeable difference between HDMI and component video, HDMI’s advantages are it supports 1080p (most people don’t have sets TV’s that do) and HDMI allows video and audio signals to be passed in one cable. You know a lot of people who have HDMI enable receivers? I uts bought one theyr are upwards of $1900.

Built in wireless, how many people use the built in wireless on their PS3. Most people have their own wireless options already. Plus any hardcore gamer, especially one who is streaming video is going to use a wired connection.

As for HD-DVD, didn’t we all slam Sony and praise Microsoft for not forcing it on us. Now you guys want it included..why HDDVD is not gonna win this format war.

As for the price of the add on drive, it is a little high, but comparing it to an internal drive you can buy off of new egg is, to steal one of your terms, bat shit crazy. You need to comapre this to a small form factor, external self powered USB external drive. 120Gig of those runs you about $135-$150.

People bitching about an upgrade path and their systems already being obsolete. WTF, do you own and iPod, welcome to Apple’s succesful strategy.

Look do I want one of these systems? No I don’t. I also don’t need to upgrade my drive either.

But you guys are reacting without putting much thought into this simply because it’s an easy shot at Microsoft.

The premiums and core models aren’t going anywhere and if we’re lucky we may even get a price break on them because of this in a few months.

How many rental videos and demos do any of you keep on your drives anyway that you would need 120GB worth?

No wireless? No HD-DVD drive? Yeah, great upgrade Microsoft… Thanks a bunch.
