Go Bucks

What an amazing run for Ohio State. It’s a damn shame that the refs were such a huge story in last night’s game; I wanted to see Oden and Hibbert go at each other a lot more — plus several of those fouls (on both players) were very ticky-tack in nature. I thought Oden had a fantastic 2nd half, (13 pts, 9 boards) showing that he’s not just a 3-feet from thr hoop scorer and grabbing some man-sized rebounds when the game was on the line. His jump hook from about 9 feet out and his jumper from the edge were huge plays — and yeah, you could have called him for charging, but his missed dunk over Green was breathtaking. A 7-footer shouldn’t be able to do that.

Still, to hold Green to five FG attempts is just…shocking. That was my fear going into the game — who guards Green? A fantastic defensive game by the Bucks.

Mike Conley Jr. continues to show why he’s the real MVP of this team. I fully believe he’s the best PG in college right now. He is in total control of the game every minute he’s on the floor.

Florida is the best team in college basketball. No doubt about it. OSU will be, and should be, underdogs in Monday night’s game. Florida is as sound as a team can be — but anything can happen on any given night (see OSU/Florida in the BCS title game) and just to be in the title games in both football and basketball in the same year is an astounding accomplishment, only trumped by what the Gators have done over the past 12 months.

So we get another shot at Florida Monday night.

I can’t wait.

I’ve become a huge fan of the way that Conley plays the game. I absolutely love his little teardrop runners in the lane.

Watching the game yesterday sometimes I wonder if OSU is a better team in the times when Oden is in foul trouble. I thought they were a much more dynamic team and they move the ball around a great deal more.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s getting better game by game, but I think the offense slows a bit when he’s in there. Not that they’re a bad team, I just love the 4 guard lineup that they use when he’s not on the floor.

I do have to say that this will be a sad game for me to watch, considering that some of these players may not play another college game and I won’t be following their careers as the NBA game is just painful to watch of late. Put them in the NBA in the 80’s and I’d be all there.. .but the game now… ugh.
