Sunday Morning..
(PS Nice song by the group James if you can find it).
Anyway, I know Uncle Jerry and Bill Harris both have mentioned CC as a place to get GH2 for the 360 early. Well, right after Bill (Dubious Quality) posted it, I called and checked online. No dice at the 4 stores close to me. Today, after Uncle Jerry posted it, I checked CC online and now it reads “not available for instore pickup” so whatever loophole that was there, is gone now. Consider yourself lucky if you picked it up.
Something that is good though is that if you buy it at CC, you’ll get 1600 MS points free. Not a bad deal…that is if you like supporting a place that fired people because they paid them too much money, and by too much money you think $11/hr is a lot. OTOH, most “Sales associates” there don’t seem to know the difference between a GBA and a DS, so maybe $11 was too much.
In other news, I finished doing everyone’s taxes so now I can dedicate my time to writing gaming reviews (phew). I now have the 4 out at GameFly and picked up Godfather for Wii and MoH Vanguard for Wii. It’s great to see adult games for the Wii. Godfather’s graphics are pretty darn good by Wii standards and the voice acting is great. I’m having a lot of fun with the controls for it — punching, dragging and throwing people never felt so good.
MoH Vanguard could be good, but the jury is out. My son who is a CoD veteran on the 360 doesn’t like it becuase of the controls. I would agree with him — the controls are tough but aiming isn’t bad. It could be one of those things that you just have to get used to before enjoying; however it also could be something that you can’t get used to. I’ll have to give it some more time before rendering an opinion. The other two games I have right now are MLB 07 The Show for PS2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance for the 360.
Marvel is the first game I have played on all platforms and I can unequivocally say that the 360 version is the best of the bunch.
Getting back to sports - as everyone knows today is opening day, and tomorrow at work my Sirius radio will get me through the morning an XM will get me through the afternoon. Orioles are on ESPN2 tomorrow at 7, so I won’t use MLB.TV just yet. You have to love this time of year, when you think your team really has a chance..which is so much better than the end of April when you know it’s time to start thinking about football season.

The James cover of the Velvet Underground classic is good, but I like the original a little better.
I’m glad to hear the Wii controls for Godfather are solid, as I didn’t play it on the 360 and it looks fun.
Did you try Call of Duty on the Wii? I’m rather tired of WWII shooters, but it controled pretty well and made me think FPS on the Wii will end up being good once developers get the handle on things.

Yes you are correct it is a cover — I should have disclosed that. Just like the band James and had it on my mind :).
I did not play CoD on the Wii, so I can’t compare & contrast. I only played it on the 360.

I tried it on the Wii. The controls were pretty good, but I found the graphics difficult to deal with. I just hope there will come a day where the Wii won’t be getting Playstation 2 ports.
