Back in action
Sorry that I forgot to mention that I was going out of town for the weekend. I took the family up to International Falls to spend some time with my wife’s family for a few days. My wife spent the day with her mom, and I spent the day on the lake fishing with my Father-in-law. What was shocking was the fact that I was actually catching fish. It’s like the fish didn’t care that I was from Wisconsin. Amazing.
Anywho…back to the news.
1. Alberto Gonzales resigns… Now they just need to undo the shit that he did while he was in office.
Is anyone going to be around the White House to help Bush lock up when he’s done?
2. Why hasn’t the Gamestop lady called to tell me that Metroid Prime 3 is in stock? IGN said they traveled the Galaxy or something to find out if the game is good. I just wish Dan could write as well as the IGN guys do.
3. I’m going to run out to my Cell phone vendor today to see if I can pick up a Motorola Q. I’ve talked to a few people in the area who have the phone who really like it, so I’m going to give it a go. Now I just have to decide if I want to buy Warhawk to get another Bluetooth headset, as I’ll keep my old one for my new phone and then I could give the Warhawk one to my wife. I’m such a nice husband.
4. I saw in the newest Games for Windows magazine that there is a rumor that 2K Sports will be making a PC baseball game next year. Has anyone else heard anything about this? This is the first I had heard about a PC baseball game in a few years.
5. I’m giving up on Gamefly, it took 6 days for them to receive my last game. I just can’t deal with the hassle anymore. It’s funny that Dan had problems with Netflix though, I’ve never had a movie take more than 2 days to get to me.
6. Sorry I missed the draft the other day. Looks like the Gamefly Haters turned out ok though.

I would think that MP3 won’t be sold until tomorrow and is shipping today, but stranger things have happened.
The fish were biting only because your father-in-law’s Minnesota power far outdid your infernal Wisconsin power
I missed that thing on 2K doing a baseball game. I just got my GFW magazine, guess I’ll have to read more carefully to see if I can scope it out.

Well, I did tell my father in law that my wife and are considering moving to Minnesota.. that might have caused the fish to be more receptive.
In regards to the 2K thing, it was a really small mention of it. I can see how people would miss it. I was shocked when I noticed it and had to read it twice just to make sure I wasn’t imagining it.

Speaking of baseball games… I have not played them for a long long time. I used to really like them. Earl Weaver Baseball and Hardball are two of my favorite games of all time. What would you guys recommend I play for either the 360, xbox, or PS2? I have a hard time with hitting on the newer baseball games with the batting perspective behind the plate.

Since you said PS2, your best bet is probably MLB 06 or 07 (The Show) by Sony. There’s too much wrong with the MLB 2K series (2K6 was unplayable, 2K7 works but still has problems).
Moving to Minnesota, eh? I guess you’re welcome here

A pC basball game? Be still my heart!
I guess it would be too much to hope for anything close to the High Heat Series… After their demise, I tried to like EA Sports’s series - I really did. A year later, I gave up on PC Baseball altogether.

Thanks for the welcome, Loren. heh.
When I mentioned to my wife that we could look at moving there, I got 5 MLS listings within 5 minutes.
It’ll be a few years before we move that way, but I think we will get there before too long.
You’ll see me on TV, as the guy getting thumped at the Gopher games wearing the Wisconsin Hockey jersey.

Yeah, Gopher hockey is about all we have nowadays. Every other major team sucks here. Don’t worry, my co-worker is a Madison graduate so we rib each other all the time.

As for the PC, MVP 05 was a damn fine game, especially with the tremendous community of mods and roster patches. Try that out…getting the game can be costly on Ebay, though.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I happened to pick up MVP 2004 for the Xbox for 4 bucks. Gonna give that a whirl especially since my Xbox 360 just died.
