Friday night news and notes
- As was mentioned earlier today in the comments, Sega and Out of the Park Developments have parted ways. From the press release, it doesn’t appear that anything will change. Here’s a brief Q and A at the OOTP site.
- Finally some more details about the new version of Tecmo Bowl. No word on platform, but they’re promising editable jerseys and helmets and player names. That’s a good start.
- I have a friend who got me started on assigning different songs for ring tones for each of my friends. Man, this is a lot of work. It’s especially hard when your trying to find each track without any DRM crap.
- Tomorrow night the Badgers have a night game against Iowa, so I’ll be posting my all time top 5 favorite Wisconsin Football night games. That ought to excite… maybe 1 of you.

I was….trying…. to do it legally.
Some of these songs are just hard to find. Such as… David Allen Coe’s “You Never Even Call Me By My Name.” Others are pretty easily available through… various means.

Too bad about OOTP; another victim of exclusive licensing (although why Take 2 would consider a PC management game to be competition with their console-only baseball game I have no clue.) With the earlier death of their hockey game this leaves Sports Interactive back as a soccer only developer.

Re: Music
Yahoo Unlimited/Pandora >> any program that can record output from your sound card (HardDisk Ogg is free and can record in many formats). A short clip is fair use (no fixed legal guideline, but 10% up to 30sec total is common), and you don’t have to break the copy protection.

Thanks for the info about short clips. That’s what I was hoping to do. No need to get an entire song when I’m just looking for a short clip.
