Quick note on Moss

If you’re reading this, you probably have heard about Randy Moss and the allegations surrounding him. This of course, led the news in the media here (if it’s not sports, it’s not news should be the motto around here, yet another reason why I prefer BBC World News, but I digress).

Recently I think we’ve seen a lot of people talk and deny allegations, and boy do they not sound credible. Randy sounds pretty credible in this case and an extortion allegation doesn’t sound out of the ordinary. Then again, I thought Raffy was telling the truth in front of Congress. So right now, I’m inclined to believe Randy. And now, back to football..

KFAN (local sports radio, don’t confuse with WFAN out east) had Randy’s local lawyer that defended him in the meter maid transgression that he had while here with the Vikings.

He made it sound, and I’m using his terms, like Randy and the lady (who he’s known for 11 years) had “consensual horseplay” and at some point the lady’s finger was injured. From the lawyer’s mouth it sounds like Randy stayed with her and put ice on her finger, but had to leave in order to get back to Boston to prepare for the game on Sunday (this happened on the 6th or 7th the lawyer said). The lady was not happy that Randy wasn’t going to stick around to see her through this injury.

The lawyer says (and remember, he is a representative for Moss) that it is sounding like the lady met with her lawyer before even going to the hospital to have it looked at. After that she went to the hospital and there was no damage such as a break to the finger.

Now, whether this is just over a finger or not I don’t think we know. Has there been any information outside of the fact she is looking for a restraining order (which the lawyer says Moss would accept since he said Moss never wants to see the woman again)? You guys in Boston may know better than we do here in MN even though it happened in Florida.

Randy’s biggest problem is his history in regards to the law and some of his outbursts on the football field that he has been fined for. I tend to believe Moss in this situation, but who really knows. I still wish we had him. Does he have just a 1 year deal with the Patriots? I’m just wondering because I would expect him to either demand big money from the Patriots or put himself on the market in order to make millions again now that he has heightened his status once again.

Welcome to the world that is Randy Moss. You’re going to have to deal with problems that are outside the world of football when you have a player like him. He’s been this way since he came into the league and nothing has changed.

From what I’ve seen he’s not an awful person, but he will cause distractions outside of the team.

Not much more information here — but I just read about what you’ve mentioned on MSNBC which of course is an instant hit to the credibility meter.
