I think the team was responsive when Brett said he had changed his mind in March. They had things all set to come down there and get the deal done to bring him back, but then Brett changed his mind.

What bothers me as a Packer fan is that you have a player with 3 years left on his contract that is crying and complaining about how he’s being treated and wants to go elsewhere. Once you forget that it’s Favre doing it, it just seems like any other athlete that is trying to put themself above everyone else on the team.

C’mon, do you actually think Moss would have done that well in Green Bay? Not a chance… it’s not even close to the same system. Considering the Packers operated on a quick slant offense last year, with maybe 2 shots downfield a game, Moss might have had a 10 TD year…and could have gotten hurt going over the middle. As it was, they had all of their young guys get used to the system and grow in it. I’d rather have Jennings and Driver, than Driver and Moss.

The good thing about the Vikings issue is that there isn’t any chance he’ll ever end up there… they’ll let him rot on the roster, eating 12 million a year, never playing in a game before they would release him to go there.

I wish they would just go back to the old glove logo on a daily basis. Seeing it every Friday home game just reminds me that they got rid of it for no good reason.

Within 3 weeks of his tearful farewell press conference, Favre started dropping not-too-subtle hints to McCarthy and Thompson that he wanted to play again. They already had their minds made up, though. This is about Thompson’s ego: He wants his draft pick to start at QB so he can show the world what a great GM he is. Meanwhile a legend QB with at least one more solid year in him is getting hosed.

I’m the biggest Packers fan I know, and as much as I love the Packers I HATE the Vikings. Yet at this point with all the bull that Thompson is putting Favre through, I find myself hoping Brett ends up in Minnesota and kicks the Packers’ ass at least twice this upcoming season.

This isn’t a Favre-has-done-so-much-for-the-organization-so-now-we-owe-him opinion on my part, either. The fact is that Favre has at least one more awesome year in him and we’d be stupid to waste it all simply because our GM is a stubborn egomaniac.

In the beginning I didn’t like how he was playing it because he was trying to make it look like he was forced out. How many years was he going to do the whole ‘Am I coming back or not?’ thing before the team finally decided to move on. They couldn’t keep affording to wait until May or June every year. It’s a business, you can’t have your employees dictating your entire future plan to you.

The fact that he jerked the team around just before the draft bothers me as well. I’m un-retiring… well… .maybe not…

Add that to his bitterness because Ted Thompson didn’t run the organization the way that HE wanted it to be run (Interviewing Mooch for the head coach, resigning Wahle and Rivera (two of the best decisions Thompson has made to date,) and the Randy Moss thing,) and you have a guy who is just acting bitter about how he thinks he should have been treated. He seems to be saying, ‘I didn’t get my way… so I’ll try to make everyone look bad.’

Well, Brett… you’ve done that… and made yourself look bad as well.

I’m not sure that Brett gives the Packers the best chance to win at this point. Especially with how he’s completely fragmented the locker room at this point (Young guys want Rodgers, older guys want Favre.)

Sadly, it isn’t ending any time soon… and it annoys me every minute that I hear about it.

He was with the team for a long time and he had a terrific run. I just don’t want to see the guy end his career like this.

Oh, and F’ the Cubbies. heh.

Anyone who isn’t backing Favre at this point in time (especially after the Faux News interview with Gerta Von Cesspool) must not have ever really been a Favre fan in the first place.
