Monday night notes
- Quite a Brewers/Cubs game already. 3-2, at the end of the 6th, after back-to-back homeruns by Hardy and Braun (a monster shot.) This is pretty much exactly the type of game that I wanted to see. I'd be happy if the Brewers split the series. Of course, I'd be happier if they took 3 or 4... heh.
- MLB Power Pros '08 comes out tomorrow and I can't wait. Of course, I won't be home tomorrow night to play it... but I'll spend all Wednesday night messing around with it and let you know what I think. (Wii version, if you're curious.)
- Here's my Gamefly story for the day... I mailed in a game to them last Tuesday... Fast Return got it on Friday, Soul Calibur IV shipped today.
Dan dropped off a game at his post office today, Fast Return got it at Noon.
Dan lives in F'n Petticoat Junction and gets the fast return service to work instantly. I drop off something at the Madison post office, the freakin' state capitol, and it takes 4 days. I just don't get this service at all.

Give it up to Rickie Weeks… Take a, for sure, double play ball to get out of the 7th… and throw it into the camera well… giving the Cubs two runs.

great review of ootp however no way can you say that we can wait for the mod community to produce better mlb rosters – have you seen the crap that’s been put out the last 3 years? every year cubby and rolen promise great rosters very soon after release and ever year mlb ootp’ers are left wanting as the calendar turns to may, then june, july, etc.
i think most mlb ootp’ers have basically given up hope of ever having them in a playable format
btw my kids are very excited about power pros – hopefully they put the 2007 quality tribe in there instead of the 2008 crap

Yay, Ned Yost! I can’t recall another situation where you want to bring your closer in when it’s a tie game in the top of the 9th, when you’re at home, and it backfires spectacularly when Torres shows little to no control and allows 2 runs in the top of the 9th.
The Cubs played a good game and took advantage of every Brewer mistake and deserved the win.
I just don’t get Yost. Yesterday he never gets a relief pitcher up while Suppan allows 7 runs in the 5th, today he brings in the closer when it makes no sense to.

Fast Return only seems to work when you have an immediately available game in your queue. That’s why it kicked in this morning when Soul Calibur’s status changed. I don’t think it really has anything to do with the P.O. notifying them, which should happen within 24 hours on any return.

The above poster is right. Fast Return only works when there is a game available on your queue. Soul Calibur IV did not become available until today, it actually got bumped up a day. Mine shipped out today. I try to keep no available games in my queue, only future ones and then plan to send back games so they get there before the release date.
