GREAT show tonight, guys. Maybe the best Riding the Pines of all. Patrick Hruby was a fantastic guest. I look forward to hearing him on future shows.
I was laughing out loud with the Madden Demo discussion. “Forget waterboarding…” I have to download that Madden demo now, even though I have no intention of buying the full version.
I always thought that APF never got a fair shake.
Thanks for the show!

You can’t sue anyone for user-created content. Marvel attempted to sue City of Heroes – didn’t work.
It’s like suing a paper manufacturer when someone plagiarizes a book.

The lawsuit possibility didn’t make sense to me either. If they were so worried about lawsuits, then they could have disabled 2K Share or whatever it’s called for game rosters. I think there was a fourth possibility that Patrick didn’t mention. APF was released prior to EA extending their exclusive NFL contract, correct? Perhaps 2K thought that there was at least a possibility, however remote, that they could get a license with the NFL whenever it was set to expire and they didn’t want to annoy the league. Who knows? The game plays great, but it totally feels like they half assed the customization aspect.

APF played well, but the lack of a dynasty mode ruined it for me. If it had fictional players and dynasty mode it could have been great as a sandbox game. I just had no real interest in playing a 1 season game, that went out of style about 10 years ago.

The podcasts are getting better and better. Any chance of the audio quality improving though? It can be pretty abrasive at times. lol.

I can up the audio quality, but it comes at a cost of file size.
We’ll try something different with the next episode.
Thanks for the feedback.
As far as APF goes, I just started playing it again the other day as well and had an incredibly good gameplay experience. Won the game on a 2 minute drill drive that finished with a Barry Sanders run with :10 to go.
The lack of a long term mode is still a disappointment though.
