The Blog for the Sports Gamer Three guys who love Sports Gaming rant and rave about various stuff.

4Aug/089

Quick Monday morning notes

- Two minor enhacements for the site.

The blog is now configured to be read off of mobile devices. It automatically formats the page for the browser that you are using. Minor thing...but still nice.

Secondly, Dan and I can now post from our mobile phones. So, expect a lot of posts from Dan with the subject line, via the crapper....

- Favre is back in Green Bay. At last, our long national nightmare might end. Of course there is the Madden curse to contend with now...

  1. Maybe all this drama is BECAUSE of Madden?

  2. How come you guys don’t comment on Abner’s posting on Head Coach? Is it because he actually likes it and that wouldn’t fit your anti-EA slant?

You guys piggyback of Abner and Harris postings the second they say something bad about EA though. I’m sure if he finds something odd about HC it will be repeated here in a second.

Maybe you guys should change the name of this blog since it’s really has nothing to do about sports gaming anymore.

  3. Or maybe it’s because they don’t have the game yet, genius, since you know, it isn’t out yet.

Personally, I think EA has been bad for sports gaming and the guys have been right on with there posts. That said, I’m intrigued by Abner’s posts on HC, but why should anybody give EA any credit for making a game that “might not suck.”

    Please.

  4. Figures, the editing feature is gone. I meant “their posts” FWIW.

  5. I see the editing feature when I look at the posts.

    Interesting.

  6. phrasius – I’m glad you recognize I am in fact a genius. As for your comments, Has not having the game stopped them from ranting on Madden’s quality? Doesn’t appear so, seems like they are taking Abner’s posts and expanding on them, unless they do in fact have the game.

To say this blog doesn’t have an anti-EA slant would be humor plain and simple. I’m sure it’s a big read for the 2K crowd since we all know how special APF was, BTW my 6000 plus yard rushing season on Legend says Hi!, and it’s nice to have another EA is the devil place to visit.

I’ve in fact done a fair amount of railing on NCAA, but I’ll also give credit where it is due, NHL and FIFA. Please find me a post on this blog where even if they say something positive about an EA game their isn’t a backhanded insult in it.

I used to read this blog everyday, but it became very slanted in terms of who they slam and who the give praise too and I’m not just talking video games here. Then it turned into nothing more then commenting on other blogs analysis of games. From my catching up of only a few weeks it still has a very negative tone about it.

You don’t have to worry I only hit this link today because I was setting up a new reader and it pulled in all my old feeds. I don’t really visit anymore and I’m not here to spam the comments but thought your wonderfully put post deserved a reply.

Oh and Dan guess what I don’t listen to your podcast, I’d bet a lot of people don’t. First rule of radio which should really be adhered to by anyone on the web as well, their is a new audience every 20 minutes. But it’s nice to see your still adult enough to call out anyone who posts something “negative” in your forums on the blog, I mean at least your not commenting on comments on the Abner or Harris blogs…oh wait they don’t have comments.

  7. I really have no idea what you are talking about. But hey, thanks for reading. I’ll give credit when we can — so just to recap — when we railed against MLB 2K8 but talk about how great power pros is…..are we slanted on 2K? I’m not sure I follow.

  8. Oh also, again on the podcast we give plenty of credit to NHL…I’m not as fond of FIFA as you are, I prefer Pro Evolution Soccer. Sorry. But that’s just my anti-EA slant.

Give the podcast a try. It’s pretty good :) .

  9. Bill’s loving HC so far.
