Quick Thursday notes
After many days without having access, or time, to play any games... I got a chance to spend some time with a few betas last night. Specifically, Little Big Planet and Killzone 2.
- Little Big Planet is absolutely amazing. After spending about 45 minutes in the game, I could not think of another game that is coming out this year that I would want to play more. Simple things such as customizing your sackboy, are endlessly entertaining. I found myself spending way too much of my time just coming up with new outfits for him to wear, and then using stickers to give him a sort of Braveheart look.
The thing that was most amazing to me was how much customization I could do to my character, and this was just in the early sections of the beta.
I cannot wait to pick this game up now. Before I was mildly curious, now it's quite a bit more than that.
- Next up for me last night was the beta for Killzone 2. I got the codes for it last night and spent about 2 hours playing through the various multiplayer modes that were available.
Of the modes that I had a chance to play last night, I didn't really notice much variation from most of the other FPS's out there. I was very impressed by the graphics though. The game was quite a bit of fun though. I went from sitting in the bottom half of my 16 man team, to ranking in the top 3 or 4 consistently within an hour... so I was happy about that.
I'll try to put a bit more time in on the two of these tonight and see if my opinions change.

I thought the same thing about Spore, Glen.
