Very early Tuesday morning notes

- I'm up terribly late, so I figure I should post...

- Thanks to those of you that sent me recommendations for Blackberry applications.  I'm really enjoying the phone thus far.  More so than any other I've had in the past.

- I played a bit more of the show tonight and I'm in the 3rd season with my closer.  One mistake that I made with him was to add a third pitch to his arsenal.  It's a pain in the ass to try and get a closer to work on three pitches while working on the goals that they are setting for you.

My major annoyance with the game at this point has to do with the offseason... and by that, I mean there is none.  Once your season is done... you're done.  No more training to be done.

For a game that is adding things like the 40-man roster, arbitration, and the like... it sucks that you can't work on your game in the off season.  I don't think that is asking for too much...

- Anyone here watching Dollhouse?  I'm a big Whedon fan and I'm just curious as to what other people think of the show.  From what I've read, Joss's first storyline really kicks in at Episode 6... which is where his last show got cancelled on Fox.  Hopefully this one can survive a bit longer.

- The other show I watched tonight was the The Haney Experiment.  The premise of the show is that Tiger Woods' swing coach is trying to fix Charles Barkley's swing.  After two episodes the results are pretty impressive.  Barkley certainly makes the show entertaining as well.

- Ok, time for bed....

  1. I’m a huge Joss Whedon fan and I think that Dollhouse is terrible Simply awful. I’m still watching it to see if it gets better which only speaks to my stupidity, but sadly, I’ve done dumber things. When I saw that the show wasn’t going to tape next Friday due to the 2 hour Galactica episode, my comment was “Bummer” and that was about it. Never mind that I have another DVR in the other room. The show simply isn’t worth the effort required to tape it in another room. Maybe it will get better, but if it gets canceled before it does, it won’t be because Fox didn’t give it a chance, it will be because it’s a shitty show.

On a related note, I could give a crap that Eliza Dushku can sing. Please stop writing shows to showcase her various “talents” and instead try to get her to focus on her one talent that is lacking the most, namely acting.

  2. While I do enjoy bits of the show, I do have to say that her influence as an executive producer is really obvious.

Like you say, we don’t need to see her singing, but I think that’s the way she and Joss pitched out the show. It’s the Eliza Dushku variety hour… with guns. (both kinds)

  3. Which would be fine if she could do more, but she’s not strong enough of an actress to carry a show that has her doing so many things.
