Tuesday notes
- What a game for the Brewers last night. Down by 5 runs, twice, and came back to win. It's not tough to say that the pitching staff is struggling, but it was a fun game to watch, especially when Prince hit his first career grand slam. I enjoy watching the strategy employed by managers only to see it backfire. For example, they brought in a lefty to pitch to Fielder, because managing 101 tells you that you bring in a lefty to face a lefty. That would be a good move when the guy isn't hitting over .300 and slugging over .600 against lefties. Oh, well. I'm not going to complain....
- Alex Ovechkin was named as the cover athelete for NHL 2K10 today.
Does anyone else really pay attention to the cover athelete stuff any more? I know it's a big deal for the guy on the cover, but I'd be just as happy if they gave us a website that let us pick the cover we wanted so we could print it ourselves.
- I'm nearly done with my 'good' run through inFAMOUS. One thing that I was really impressed with last night is how the game integrates how you are a good guy. Later on in the game, random AI characters will pick up rocks and chuck them at the bad guys to help you fight them. Sure, they're not making a major impact, but they stop them from being able to fire their weapons at you.. and it's a nice thing to see. I'm curious to see how they treat me when I'm a really bad guy....
I haven't played a game since Eternal Darkness that I wanted to jump right back into after finishing it. We'll see how long that feeling lasts when I'm done.
- I really miss the Stanley Cup playoffs. I was happy to see that the ratings for game 7 were higher than for any game in the last 30 some years. That's awesome news. Hopefully the game can build off of that.
