Monday night notes

- Looks like I might have a late night at work tonight.  Server upgrade ahoy!

- So, EA was sneaky and didn’t list a new version of NCAA Basketball to be released this year.  It would certainly appear as though there won’t be a college basketball title for the first time since 1996, from what I’ve found.  That would make me a sad panda.  Oh, well.  I’ll stick with College Hoops 2K8 and their roster updates.

- I’ve been surprised to see that Bioshock 2 has been getting a lot of high praise in the early reviews.  You don’t expect good things when you change development studios for a sequel, so it was a minor shock to me to see all of the good comments coming out.

It’s a minor concern for me though as I got pretty bored with the first edition of the game and haven’t felt much of an urge to load it up to play it again.   I can’t really say that I’m jonesing to try out the new edition either.  Why do I mention any of this?  Got me, I’m just writing what’s coming to my mind.

- More tomorrow.

any particular reason why you got bored with the first game?

I finally bought a PS3 and I got College Hoops 2k8 because of the comments here. Well that and it was only 2.99 for a new copy at Amazon.

After a while, Bioshock just seemed very repetitive to me. My recollections of the game are the fact that I was going into an area where I would have to kill a bunch of freaks, get something, back track to another area that I had already been, then go back to the original area to do something else.

I will probably give it another go again at some point, but I just could never get myself really wrapped into it.

I’m sure you’ll enjoy College Hoops, Chuck. Take a look over at Operation Sports and you can find out which rosters that are on 2KShare are the most up to date ones.

I too never finished the first game. I still have it installed and ready to go because I will finish it someday, but it did just get a bit boring after awhile. I liked the atmosphere but the going back and forth got old.
