Sunday night notes
- Idiotic comments from CardinalsFan aside, it was a fun year and this team, when they make the decision to improve defensively, should be pretty good again next year.
Having said all that, Go Rangers!
Not that I'll be watching. I'm baseballed out.
- At least the Packers and Badgers are still undefeated. Next Saturday's game against Michigan State should be a terrific one. Can't wait to see the Badgers play a good team on the road.
- Have a good week.

Wow, as a longtime reader of your blog, it’s an honor to be mentioned.
However, I’m disappointed by your “sour grapes” and inability to offer congratulations, or even root for your league in the World Series. At the least, you could comment on the amazing baseball story that has transpired for the Cardinals.
Sorry to say, but this was your best chance to make the World Series and it will be at least another 29 years for you.
But again, an honor to be mentioned, and as a gift to you, the following:
September 28th, 2011
- It’s a remarkable year for the Brewers….
“Hopefully Greinke can get it done today and then the team can start to focus on either Arizona or Atlanta coming to town.”
September 23rd, 2011
Brewers – NL Central Champs
Damn… it’s just so weird to type that. What an absolutely amazing evening. It’s just so remarkably similar to the 2008 season where the Brewers won on the last day of the year, thanks to a Ryan Braun home run.
Unbelievable. Can’t wait to see what this team will do in the playoffs…. until then, I’m just going to sit back and enjoy an amazing run.
September 8th, 2011
- Still, the Brewers have an 8 1/2 game lead and head into a big playoff preview series with the Phillies tonight.
September 6th, 2011
- The magic number is now down to 11.
Thankfully that 3 game losing streak to the Cardinals last week did not extend into Houston, or into St. Louis yesterday. The Brewers division lead is now back up to 10 1/2 games. Now the big talk is making sure that the Brewers hang onto the 2nd best record in the National League to make sure that they don’t have to face the Phillies in the first round of the NLDS.
I guess we’ll see how that match up might look this week when the Phillies come to Milwaukee
August 26th, 2011
It’s safe to say that the Magic number of 22 can’t drop fast enough. I desperately want to see more post season baseball here in Milwaukee, and you won’t stop hearing from me about it until they clinch the division…. heh.

Looking back, 3 of the last 4 World Series champions all had at least 84 or more quality starts in a season and the Brewers are on a pace for 100, which would just be crazy, considering people don’t even consider this to be one of the top 5 pitching staffs in the game.
You have to tip your hat to Doug Melvin because of the work that he did to bring in Marcum and Greinke, and for acquiring K-Rod, because everything has really clicked for the team since he got there.

Yes, I’m sure that my lack of congratulations to the Cardinals will certainly hold the Brewers franchise down for the next 29 years. Those two things have a lot to do with one another.
Poor pitching and defense cost the Brewers this series. The Cardinals hit the bad pitching, that’s for sure… but I have a feeling that any team could have beat the Brewers based on how they played in that series.
I loved watching this team play, they were a remarkable unit throughout the season and I’m disappointed that they didn’t move on to the World Series, but I’m not going to dwell on it, get drunk, and beat up my wife and kids because the season is over.
It was a fun ride, but it’s done. I’ll move on, and I’m sure the team will as well.

The Brewers lost because I put a curse on them. I don’t apply curses lightly, but after much thought I decided it was necessary. The Brewers will never win a World Series until they change their logo back (permanently) to the greatest logo in all of sports.
The Cardinals logo is pathetic: A bird sitting on a bat? Do you know why that bird was able to sit on that bat? Because evidently Cardinals batters suck and are always just looking for a walk. This is a scientific, objective FACT. Sure sometimes the bird has to fly off and get some worms or some shit, and that’s when Poo-Holes actually swings the bat, but for the most part the bird on the bat is a symbol that the Cardinals bat with their eyes closed and hope for 4 balls.
As much as I hate all things Texas (except Austin), I’ll be rooting for the Rangers. Then next year when Poo Holes leaves for a team with a better emblem, the Cardinals won’t have to worry about lucking their way into the playoffs for many years to come.

That made my day, madtowner. Thank you.

I’m glad you guys can have your pity party together, while I’m watching my team in the World Series.

We will surely be crying ourselves to sleep for the next 29 years, as it is clear that there is no way this team could possibly win in the future.
Never mind the fact that whoever they add at 1st, SS, and 3rd will be an improvement (defensively) over this team.
And that they will return a pitching staff with 98 quality starts.
They are certainly doomed and will suffer from the curse of CardinalsFan. Some thing that I am certain will be almost the same as other curses such as the Billy Goat for the Cubs and the sale of Babe Ruth for the Red Sox.
