Backbreaker
I'm not the only one that likes this game after the patch. Bill Harris elaborates much more than I did but comes to the same conclusion, namely, who cares if Madden is out tonight when I can play this -- and customize my end zone! Click here.
Monday, Monday
Well, it's that time of year -- Madden.
For the first time in a long time, I will not be at the midnight release party -- you see, free release day shipping + low price guarantee + $20 video game credit > sausagefest at Gamestop.
I don't even know if I want to listen to that podcast -- probably not one of my best efforts. I remember ot being 1AM and me downloading stuff from the Amazon MP3 store. Glen made me buy the Best of the Steve Miller band.
Has anyone else tried Backbreaker post patch? I like it--a lot. The running game is so much fun.
Thursday Thoughts
The Orioles win again! I can’t believe it. They are looking like an actual team. Too bad they couldn’t have had Buck, like at the first game…
Loyal friend of the SGB Patrick Hurby has written a great piece on ESPN Page 2 about the history behind Madden football and he finally confirms something most in the industry had a sneaking feeling – that Sega’s Joe Montana football was actually made by EA.
It’s an awesome read. Check it out here.
I haven’t had time to grab the Backbreaker patch but I am very curious. I hear there’s also an NCAA 11 patch…can’t keep up!
In other news, I have been diagnosed with a costochondral separation. Good times. This is not a pleasurable condition.
Wednesday Fun
Well, the Orioles are now undefeated when the 3rd manager of a season manages. Seriously this team has more GB than wins.
The fact that Buck is here -- well everything just felt right last night during the game -- people hit when they were supposed to and without Tejada, there were fewer hit into double plays
.
Maybe things are turning around in Baltimore....
Oh and also for readers named Jonah:
Tampa Bay --
New York 1
hahahahahaha
Football
While many are speaking of Madden, I wanted to reiterate the amazing* patch that will be coming for Backbreaker.
I am asterisking “amazing” because if this patch fixes what the developers have said it will fix, it might very well be a great game.
On the other hand I’m also waiting for the “held up by Microsoft” and the “oops the whole team has been let go; we really wanted this to happen sorry” post as well.
I guess we’ll see. If it gets released and it fixes everything 1) I will be amazed at a relatively unknown game company supporting a game, reading the forums and fixing the game based on the feedback and 2) see #1.
